My Filipino doppelganger is not well-known here in the U.S., and for that I'm thankful.

If we ever met, would mutual annihilation result, like with matter and anti-matter?

What About Hollywood?

Oh yeah, that... Yes, I spent several years honing my talent as a screenwriter, first in San Francisco, then in Santa Monica. I did quite well in writing contests, and I even had a literary agent for a while (a worthless bottom-feeder). Nothing sold. Hollywood, need it be said, is not a meritocracy; if it were, we'd be seeing much better movies, wouldn't we?

Ironically I made more money in front of the camera as an actor & extra; for ex., you can spot me in "The Last Samurai" and "The Pursuit of Happyness". I met a lot of wannabes. A few big celebrities. I had a few really good paydays. Ultimately, none of it matters.

What now? Well, I have no interest whatsoever in leading other poor sods down that primrose path (by teaching, I mean). Independent film is still a possibility; in the future, if I get passionate about a story, it'll have to be a cheap one. Had I figured this out in the beginning, I might not have wasted so much time & effort.

Origins

Where to begin... perhaps with my premises, at least the ones that distinguish me from other people. Yes, they're mostly opinions, and that doesn't particularly bother me. These include but are not limited to the following:

• We are being lied to 24/7 by The Powers That Be about the things that really matter.
• The world we perceive is not all there is. Not even half.
• Organized religion is an obstacle to spiritual realization (though it can be useful in the early stages).
• In the absence of higher wisdom, government & politics are problems, not solutions.
• Ultimately we are not our bodies, nor even our thoughts. All forms of identity politics are just distractions from knowing your true nature.
• The human species did not evolve in the random Darwinian sense, nor was it the creation of a personal God.

I'll probably think of others, but this is enough to get the wheels turning. Yes, I am a mystic at heart. But I'm not here to tell you what the Ultimate Reality is -- that's for you to find out. I will discuss details of the less-than-ultimate realities, as it suits me.

Oh, and if you want to understand this blog's title, it helps to know Italian. Babelfish won't help much in this case. Actually, even literally translated, it might be baffling. In other words, it's an inside joke.

In Development

Well, I finally broke down and created my first blog. Actually I just wanted to post comments on a friend's blog, and this entailed joining up. The good news is, I don't suffer from logorrhea, nor do I feel that every random thought that springs into my head is worth immortalizing. You're here to be entertained, and I'll keep that in mind.
